It's authentic: We have a fave new chill band. Cody Simpson and The Tide, halted by On Air With Ryan Seacrest and performed one of their hit new tracks, "Sun Go Down," live out of the blue.

The Australian hunk beforehand portrayed the new gathering as "zen spontaneity" and we couldn't concur more. The trio, as Cody beforehand clarified, met up after Cody spent the mid year living in Venice Beach.

“Practicing guitar, surfing and writing poetry and songs in the streets of vibrant Southern California, I was met with an intense surge of musical and literary energy,” he says. “I conceived of a concept, a project, a band: The Tide. A project that could encourage fellow youth to strive for the state of flow I experienced that summer.

A fluidity that the ocean’s tide exemplifies so flawlessly. The way of the tide. The sun and the moon. Zen spontaneity.” The band also just dropped their first EP, Wave One. Watch their first-ever acoustic performance above.
