TMZ has learned. As indicated by an announcement from McCain's office, he passed on Saturday at 4:28 PM, including ... "With the Senator when he passed were his significant other Cindy and their family. At his passing, he had served the United States of America steadfastly for a long time." 


The news comes not long after McCain settled on the choice to stop restorative treatment following a year-long fight with cerebrum tumor. As we revealed ... McCain's family said age was a factor in John's choice to stop treatment.
