WWE Legend Mean Gene Okerlund Dead at 76, Tributes Pour In

"Signify" Gene Okerlund - the most well known host ever of wrestling - has passed on, WWE has affirmed. He was 76. Vince McMahon's organization issued an announcement saying, "WWE is disheartened to discover that WWE Hall of Famer Gene Okerlund, the most unmistakable questioner in games diversion history, has passed away at age 76." 

 

Mass Hogan likewise remarked ... saying, "Mean Gene I adore you my sibling." 

Misty how he kicked the bucket, however Okerlund had medical issues going back years. He had 2 kidney transplants - the first in 1995 and the second in 2004. 

 

Okerlund began as a radio DJ back in Nebraska before taking an occupation with the American Wrestling Association in 1970. He moved to WWF in the mid '80s and WRESTLED - broadly sticking Mr. Fuji in a label group coordinate with Hulk Hogan in 1984. 

Okerlund was accepted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2006 by Hulk Hogan.
